How to Look Classy but Be on Trend This Spring

Springtime is the time when there are a lot of things to do around the ranch or farm, but it's also the time when you want to bust out of those bulky winter clothes and wear something pretty, and girly, and classy. So, here are a few tips on how to look classy and still be on trend when you can finally go out again with your cowboy or with your cowgirl friends. I promise you, this doesn't require a whole new wardrobe.

The trick for being on trend without falling for every fashion fad is to pick a few trends that fit well with your regular style. The easiest way to do that is with color. Every season, fashion powers-to-be come up with a set of colors that would be the height of trendiness. If you go shopping, you'd see those colors in the new styles of clothing, footwear, accessories, and even home decor. For the spring/summer 2020, color mavens at Pantone (a famous color forecasting service) have come up with the following 12 hues:

How can you include these colors into your spring wardrobe without breaking the bank? Well, my classy cowgirl, you're in luck this season 'cause you probably already have quite a few of these colors in your closet. Classic Blue and Faded Denim are a no-brainer. What cowgirl doesn't already have a couple pairs of jeans? Flame Scarlet, Orange Peel, and Biscay Green? Check your jewelry box for some coral, spiny oyster, and turquoise. Sunlight? How about that straw hat of yours? Cinnamon Bark? Bet you've got a pair of cowgirl boots that come pretty close. And you know what? You don't have to have something in each of these colors. Choose the ones you already have or the ones you'd like to add to your wardrobe, and use them as an accent to the colors you normally wear. That way, you'll stay true to your style and be trendy at the same time without buying a whole new set of clothes. Looking stylish doesn't require deep pockets, but it surely requires putting some thought into how you combine the colors, textures, and shapes you wear. But, that's a topic for a whole new blog post or two... or three. If you need some help applying this to your jewelry, boots, and accessories, search the Buckaroo Bling blog for "how to" posts, and you'll find some useful tips there.
