Happy International Nacho Day!

Think about southwestern cuisine, and you can't but remember nachos. They are not eaten only in the United States and Mexico, but have become popular throughout the world. Some cultures even have traditional dishes that are very similar to nachos in the way they're assembled and presented but look at the ingredients, and you'd be hard pressed to call them nacho.

So, we're here to celebrate the International Nachos Day (which falls on October 21st this year) with some tasty recipes for this popular snack.

First, of course, we have a Mexican Nacho Recipe, which uses only four toppings: refried beans, shredded cheese, jalapeno peppers, and green onions.

Then, let's look at Classic Nachos, the kind with ground beef that you can find at most places that serve nachos.

Next, there are Tex-Mex Nachos, a variation on the theme of the classic recipe above, just more spiced up and loaded with more toppings.

And now, we get into the weirder and more interesting nacho recipes: Cheesecake Dessert Nachos, Spicy Shrimp Nachos, Bean and Sweet Potato Nachos, Asian Style Nachos, Raspberry Dessert Nachos, and the list goes on.

If your mouth isn't watering by now, you must not be a nacho fan. As for me, I'm off to celebrate the International Nacho Day with a plate of tortilla chips topped with some classic topping goodness.
