If you've ever bought any of Buckaroo Bling leather fringe jewelry, you might be wondering how to properly store it or how to straighten that fringe if it gets out of whack. That's exactly what I want to talk to you about today.
First, to keep your leather bling looking nice for a long time, you've got to protect it from the elements (rain, sun, etc.). If you don't, your leather bling will develop lots of blemishes. You'll know damage has already been done if you see cracks on the surface of leather or if its texture becomes rigid.
The most common cause of damage in leather is liquid. Avoid wearing your leather bling when it's raining outside and be careful when you're washing your hands so you don't damage your leather bracelets. Also, make sure you store your leather bling in a cool and dry place.
If your leather fringe gets kinked for some reason, lay it down on a flat surface, place a cotton towel underneath it, fold part of the towel on top of the fringe and start ironing in downward motion. Just make sure to use a no steam setting on your iron. When straightened, place your leather fringe bling away from sunlight to cool off.
So, you weren't paying attention and your leather bling started to develop mildew? You can try to gently remove it with one of the two solutions below:
- Mix 1/2 cup of rubbing alcohol and 1/2 cup of water. Dip a clean cloth into the solution and wipe the area that has mildew with it. Let leather dry away from sunlight.
- Wash the area affected by mildew with germicide soap and water. Then, dry it with a clean cloth and leave the piece to completely dry away from sunlight.
