4 Chic Holiday Outfits That Won't Break The Bank

Depending on where you live, holiday season gatherings may be severely restricted this year. That's why shopping for a whole new pricey, stylish wardrobe is not an option this time around. So what's a chic cowgirl to do? Work with what you already have.

5 pieces, 4 holiday outfits for women

I'm here today to show you how you can combine three pieces you already have in your wardrobe with only two fancier ones to create four different stylish holiday outfits.

In our example here we've got:

  1. a pair of jeans you already own (pictured here are Betty jeans from Kimes Ranch);
  2. a fancy embroidered or otherwise embellished shirt (Stevie tunic from DD Ranchwear);
  3. a black maxi skirt (Bakersfield Serape skirt from DD Ranchwear);
  4. a white or cream colored shirt or blouse that's already hanging somewhere in your closet (Reyna blouse from Sundance Catalog) and
  5. a pair of good looking black boots (Rock Razz boots from Old Gringo).

So, most of us ladies would already have numbers 1, 4, and 5 in our closets. I bet some of you have numbers 2 and 3 stashed away somewhere too, but let's say, you need to buy some fancy pieces. Buying only two and combining them with what you already have in your closet would make it so much easier on your wallet without causing your style to suffer.

I've chosen here both a black skirt and a black top. There's a real good reason why. Black is elegant and never goes out of style, plus it can be combined with many colors. Also, it can be worn in many different occasions that require you to dress more formally. So, by choosing black instead of the traditional Christmas red or green you're getting a couple of pieces that could be worn for special occasions year round. I'm sure your wallet would be happy with that.

Let's now see how to make four different outfits with these pieces...

Combine numbers 1, 2, and 5, and you get a fancy casual outfit for those times when the gathering is not too formal but your regular jeans and button-down just won't do.

Mix numbers 1, 4, and 5 when you need to look put together but more sweet and demure than sexy, and wear together numbers 3, 4, and 5 in similar occasions that are more formal.

Last but not least, when you want to go all out and stand out from a crowd, combine pieces number 2, 3, and 5. And there you have it: four different outfits for four different types of occasions with just two fancy pieces of clothing in your wardrobe.

Don't forget to add a good looking belt and some fun bling, but don't overdo it, especially if you're wearing an embroidered or otherwise embellished top. Need some bling to go with those outfits? Take a peek at a few designs from Buckaroo Bling that would make each of these outfits pop.
